GO SIMBAV presents in Soria how innovation and digitalization are transforming the poultry industry

On April 14, 2026, the SIMBAV Task Force will hold an in-person informational event in El Burgo de Osma (Soria) to present the project’s progress in the areas of digitalization, the circular economy, and sustainability as applied to the poultry sector.

The event, aimed at producers, technicians, and industry representatives, will demonstrate how the adoption of new technologies and waste recovery can help develop more efficient, competitive, and environmentally friendly models for poultry farming.

During the event, the project’s main areas of focus will be presented:

  • Digitization of farms, using real-time monitoring systems that track energy consumption, water usage, and factors related to animal welfare, thereby enabling more efficient farm management.
  • Sustainability and reduction of environmental impact, assessed through life cycle analysis and technical-economic studies that evaluate the feasibility and benefits of the proposed model.
  • Value creation through the conversion of rice husks and rice bran, along with agricultural waste, into biofuels and biofertilizers, thereby promoting the use of byproducts and the circular economy.

The event will take place from 10:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hotel II Virrey Palafox, with the participation of ASCLEA, FEUGA, ITG, and Avícola El Charcón, members of the Task Force.

The program also includes a technical visit to El Charcón Poultry Farm, where the digitalization system developed as part of the project is currently being implemented. This activity will give participants a firsthand look at how the technological tools work on a real-world farm.
