A new video from the SIMBAV Operational Group is now available on our YouTube channel, focusing on the participation of Bodega Hermanos del Villar, known for its Oro de Castilla brand.
Located in the Rueda Designation of Origin, the winery boasts a solid track record in cultivating the Verdejo variety and in the comprehensive management of its own vineyards. This direct experience in the field is precisely one of the main values it brings to the project: practical knowledge of agronomic management, monitoring the health of the vineyard, and applying strategies aimed at more efficient and sustainable production.
Within the framework of SIMBAV, Bodega Hermanos del Villar is actively participating in the implementation and validation of solutions aimed at improving plant health and sustainable vineyard management. Specifically, their contribution focuses on the valorization of pruning waste, which is combined with chicken litter for subsequent controlled combustion. The result is a nutrient-rich natural byproduct, suitable for application as an organic amendment in the vineyard. This approach allows for closing the resource cycle, transforming agricultural and livestock waste into a useful tool for fertilizing the vines.
The winery’s collaboration reinforces the applied nature of the project, demonstrating how cooperation between companies and technical entities drives tangible improvements in sustainability, efficiency, and competitiveness.
We invite you to discover her full testimony and the progress she is promoting within SIMBAV in this new audiovisual segment.
